  1. Select the text
  2. Hold the right mouse buttonAbout a quarter of a second. A short click still opens the usual menu.
  3. Swipe to “Add to Reminders” and let goIt sits on the ring where you put it, and it’s always in All Actions.
  4. It finds the time and the task
  5. Change anything you likeThe to-do, the date or the time.
  6. Add it to RemindersOr to Calendar: without a time, it’s an all-day event.

What it does

Select a sentence with a time in it, such as “明天下午 3 点和设计组过一遍截图” (go over the screenshots with the design team tomorrow at 3 pm), and Pop picks out the time and the task. It knows Chinese phrases for today, tomorrow, weekdays and next week, dates, “in 3 days”, “in half an hour”, morning, afternoon and evening, half past and a quarter past.

English sentences such as “tomorrow at 3pm” are read by the system’s date detection.

Change the to-do, date and time if you like, then add it to Reminders, where a time gets an alert, or to Calendar, where a day without a time becomes an all-day event. The original sentence goes into the notes.

The first time, macOS asks for permission. Calendar only needs write access: Pop doesn’t read your events.

Install it

Plugins aren’t part of the Pop download. Install this one when you need it.

1From Settings

In Pop’s Settings › Actions, find “Add to Reminders” under Plugins at the top and click Install. It downloads from Pop’s GitHub release in a few seconds and works right away, without a restart.

2Or from the ring

Open All Actions on the ring and search for “Add to Reminders”. Plugins that aren’t installed are listed after your actions: click it to install, and it runs right away if it can handle what you selected.

3Then use it your way

Put it on the ring in Settings › Ring, give it a shortcut, or run it from Shortcuts and scripts with its link:

pop://run?plugin=reminder

Uninstall it from the same list when you no longer need it: the plugin and its settings are deleted. After Pop updates, installed plugins are updated with it, and with iCloud sync on, what you install syncs to your other Macs.
