Scan a QR code with your phone to download the selected files or images (folders are zipped first) or get the selected text, and upload files from the phone to Downloads. The phone and Mac just need to be on the same Wi-Fi; Android works too..

What it does

A QR code appears on the card: scan it with your phone’s camera to download the selected files or images in the browser, no app needed.

Folders are zipped first; selected text shows up on the page, ready to copy with a long press.

The page can also send files from the phone to the Mac’s Downloads folder, with a notice for each one.

The phone and Mac just need the same Wi-Fi; Android works too. Sharing goes on after you close the card, stops from the menu bar, and stops by itself after 10 minutes without access. The address includes a random key.

Install it

Plugins aren’t part of the Pop download. Install this one when you need it.

1From Settings

In Pop’s Settings › Actions, find “Send to Phone” under Plugins at the top and click Install. It downloads from Pop’s GitHub release in a few seconds and works right away, without a restart.

2Or from the ring

Open All Actions on the ring and search for “Send to Phone”. Plugins that aren’t installed are listed after your actions: click it to install, and it runs right away if it can handle what you selected.

3Then use it your way

Put it on the ring in Settings › Ring, give it a shortcut, or run it from Shortcuts and scripts with its link:

pop://run?plugin=sendToPhone

Uninstall it from the same list when you no longer need it: the plugin and its settings are deleted. After Pop updates, installed plugins are updated with it, and with iCloud sync on, what you install syncs to your other Macs.
