What it does
Float a live view of any window in a corner of the screen, above all other windows; it stays in sight when you switch apps or desktops, or go full screen. Keep an eye on a video, a call, a download or a build while you work.
Choose the window in the card: each has a thumbnail, and the one under the pointer comes first. The view keeps the window’s proportions in the bottom-right corner; open another and it stacks above, up to four at once.
Drag to move it, scroll to resize it (the size is remembered) and double-click to go back to the window, even a minimized one. Right-click to change its size or opacity, or close it.
When the original window closes, the view says so and goes away. It needs the Screen & System Audio Recording permission.
Install it
Plugins aren’t part of the Pop download. Install this one when you need it.
1From Settings
In Pop’s Settings › Actions, find “Picture in Picture” under Plugins at the top and click Install. It downloads from Pop’s GitHub release in a few seconds and works right away, without a restart.
2Or from the ring
Open All Actions on the ring and search for “Picture in Picture”. Plugins that aren’t installed are listed after your actions: click it to install, and it runs right away if it can handle what you selected.
3Then use it your way
Put it on the ring in Settings › Ring, give it a shortcut, or run it from Shortcuts and scripts with its link:
pop://run?plugin=windowPiPUninstall it from the same list when you no longer need it: the plugin and its settings are deleted. After Pop updates, installed plugins are updated with it, and with iCloud sync on, what you install syncs to your other Macs.
