Uninstall App

Uninstall the selected app: find the settings, caches and containers it left in your Library, see how much space each takes, and move them to the Trash together. Check only the leftover files to reset the app to a fresh install.

What it does

Select an app in Finder and Pop finds the settings, caches and containers it left in your Library, plus saved window state, website data, logs and launch agents, with the size of each.

Items that match the app’s bundle ID are checked. Ones whose name only starts the same, or that may be shared with another app from the same developer, are left unchecked.

Everything checked goes to the Trash, so you can put it back. If the app is running, Pop asks it to quit first.

Uncheck the app itself to clear only its leftovers: the app starts fresh, as if just installed. Apps that come with macOS can’t be uninstalled.

Install it

Plugins aren’t part of the Pop download. Install this one when you need it.

1From Settings

In Pop’s Settings › Actions, find “Uninstall App” under Plugins at the top and click Install. It downloads from Pop’s GitHub release in a few seconds and works right away, without a restart.

2Or from the ring

Open All Actions on the ring and search for “Uninstall App”. Plugins that aren’t installed are listed after your actions: click it to install, and it runs right away if it can handle what you selected.

3Then use it your way

Put it on the ring in Settings › Ring, give it a shortcut, or run it from Shortcuts and scripts with its link:

pop://run?plugin=uninstallApp

Uninstall it from the same list when you no longer need it: the plugin and its settings are deleted. After Pop updates, installed plugins are updated with it, and with iCloud sync on, what you install syncs to your other Macs.
